International Master's Programme in Sports Technology, 120 Higher Education Credits
The programme provides in-depth knowledge of product development for the experiential sector, which many now believe to be one of the fastest growing industries in the world. You will acquire tools for assessing the functionality of existing sports equipment and knowledge that allows you to make improvements and develop new, innovative equipment. Special emphasis is placed on methodology with applications relating to the interaction of people and technology. You learn to identify appropriate solutions for technically advanced requirements, as well as how to organise and lead project groups that require interdisciplinary knowledge in order for product development to be carried out effectively.
The programme is run in close cooperation with research groups in the field at Mid Sweden University, which have good contacts with trade and industry and international research projects.
Entry requirements
Degree of Bachelor in Mechanical Engineering or Degree of Bachelor of Science in Engineering in Mechanical Engineering of at least 180 higher education credits or equivalent.
English course B from Swedish Upper Secondary School (Gymnasium). This can be proven by for example the following international English tests: - TOEFL with a minimum score of 575 on a paper based test and not below 4.5 on the TWE
- TOEFL with a minimum score of 90 on internet based test and not below 20 on the TWE
- IELTS Academic Training with a minimum overall score of 6.5 and a minimum score on the specific parts of at least 5.5.

After the programme
The International Master’s Programme in Sports Technology will provide you with in-depth engineering skills in product development, for example, the development of outdoor products, disability aids, sports-related equipment and protection.

Masterexamen med huvudområdet maskinteknik, translated into Master of Science (120 credits) with a major in Mechanical Engineering.
